Katzenstein’s photographs have been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in the United States. In 2012 Katzenstein mounted two exhibitions at the Bronx Museum, NYC: Bronx Portraits and Valerie Capers: A Portrait. In 2013 he mounted two exhibitions at Connecticut College, both dealing with themes of ritual: World Views and Islam in Africa.

In 2013 Katzenstein launched his online project 50/50, which consists of 50 photographs from 50 countries he has traveled to. And from July 2013 – July 2014 he was named the first Photographer in Residence of Times Square by the Times Square Alliance, the organization that manages the large business neighborhood.

In June, the Times Square Project was the centerpiece of an expose about Katzenstein’s career that appeared on CBS New Sunday Morning. Future plans for this body of work is an exhibition and book. Katzenstein is also currently the photographer in residence for the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance and for Opening Act, an organization that brings theater education into New York City public high schools.

Katzenstein’s knowledge of the world and his ability to adapt to different cultures is matched by his love of people, his sense of humor and his desire to show positive aspects of all cultures.
